Interesting article here comparing various tracks (5) in various formats (LP, CD, DVD-A, SACD, 'ripped' (EAC) CD and "remastered" CD).

Especially since the article doesn't really come down on either side of the LP vs digital is a "religious war", although she states that she does prefer the LPs, but actually sets out to discover why.

Also, interested to note the differences between the remastered and original versions of Café Bleu (The Style Council) on CD. Amazing what the cloth ears (no offence intended to myself) in the sales departments of the major record labels will do for a dollar while ignoring the crap that they are producing.

Her other articles on different digital versions of Kralls' The Look of Love (the first 3 articles in the series) and on comparing audio tracks and 0dBFS+ levels are also a good read. It's a shame there aren't more experiments like this out there rather than the usual (apologies to Mel Brooks) "My schwartz is bigger than your schwartz" arguments.
