Rework -- cleaning up through-holes

Saw this in QST -- to clean up that PCB through-hole mess take a wooden toothpick - sharpen the edge with a diag (or nail cutter), heat with your soldering iron and push the solder through.

That's an interesting tip!

We had a problem with a couple of through-holes being blocked after rework, so we couldn't get the components in afterwards, the board was sapping the heat and the component melted before the solder in the hole would :bawling: . In the end it was solved by preheating the board and attacking it with a soldering iron each side, all the whilst pushing the new component in: I'll give your idea a whirl if it happens again, it would have been soooo much easier.
