Questions about making Cat5 speaker cable

I am planning on making some Cat5 speaker cables to run directly from the fullrange driver inside a speaker to the amp outside.

I was just given a whole lot of Cat5e cable. Is Cat5e suitable?

Also, can anyone link me to the best diy guide for making Cat5 speaker cables?

Some say its the best low cost and joyful experience they had.
