Hello
I am a student and I have a scholarship in France, Lille at Lille Polytech. I need some help tracking down some stores for electronic parts and most important some PC related shops because I need to buy a cheep notebook or laptop, So if you could tell me some adresses or the names of some cheep shops that you know, it would be great, Thanks , |

You can buy affordable laptops and other computer stuff at hypermarché's in France.
And in Lille you're in luck, Lille has plenty of hypermarché's: Carrefour, Auchan, Cora(Lens, 5 min. from Lille) Or hop across the border to Belgium, average price levels are lower there. Or, find someone with a Metro membership card and shop wholesale at the Lille Metro. You can even catch me there.

I was thinking to cross the border but I wasn't sure if the prices are lower. I will also look at auchan and other hypermarkets, |

I'd also go for the supermarket option.
One thing that can be useful that they sometimes take care of the warranty too. So in case you have a problem, you don't ship the laptop to the manufacturer (at your expenses) but you just bring it to the supermarket. Check if they do that at your place, but I think it could be quite convenient

For electronic parts you can choose between the Conrad store in Lille or Selectronic if you need something special. The Selectronic shop is in Ronchin, the south of Lille.
