Thanks, but it's now in the capable hands of Brent. After swapping the laser, messing with the clock and hardwiring ribbons I was stuck. He's put a new front connector on, different clocks (my Audiocom started melting the glue on it) and now a new servo chip (was still intermittent and dragging down the clock signal). There's still hope yet but unfortunately there's also a chance it won't work for us!

Fingers crossed for you both. Having had my board out maybe a dozen times I felt it was only a matter of time before something broke. For me it was only that big ribbon that started to get a bit awkward to fit back, but IMO the board's too big and flexy to survive forever...

It's still not working. Probably isn't going to for the weekend. I'll be coming empty-handed

Checklist
  • Power Extension Cords
  • Power splitters/bricks
  • Power Leads/Kettle leads
  • Interconnects
  • Speaker Cables
  • Basic tools (screwdrivers/allen keys)
  • Multimeters/DMM's
  • Music! (CD's/Laptops/Harddrives)
  • And obviously your gear (audio, not the other kind!)

I'd also recomment bringing some masking tape/pens to mark down your cables and other bits n bobs so there's no mix ups.

See you guys tomorrow!

Default Missing a good opportunity

I really wanted to be able to make it for this meet. However the timing is not OK for me and maybe I will make it next time it's held.

How about pictures and some posts during the Meet. Some of us not attending might want to ask some quick questions .

Have fun.
Cheers,
Ashok.

I was hoping to bring my little magic box that can be used as a mono headphones amp, but I can't find the PSU for it. Also the amps I was planning to bring are going to be too problematic as they are just loose PSU and amp boards etc and I only have one channel of each so you can't really judge them that well.

But I will be bringing an active sub
