Default Active / Passive how such line to draw

Hello All,

When I look at a power amp schematic (assuming a standard/typical one) how do I tell which part of the circuit is active and which part is passive. Especially the input side of the schematic that normally has a high and low filter network, are these classified as active components? From the ouput onwards to the speaker, is the speaker driver units with its impedance and resistance or capacitance nature also classified as passive. I understand the major difference between a passive black box and active black box, but I am confused with certain parts within the active black box, I think they may be classified as passive parts within a active circuit, please help me clear the muddy in my mind.

Thanks
Chris

There are also passive components inside any
tube or semiconductor. You just can't get away
from those passives.

Default Remove parts at input of power amp schematic

Now If I am to use an external CrossOver device(active or passive) between the pre-amp and power amp, should I go ahead and remove the existing CR and RC the normal low pass and high pass at the input of the power amprefier?
Thanks,
Chris
