Speaker stand question?

I am building a custom built speaker stand for my speakers. I was wondering if it would help a lot to have rubber pads on the top and floor spikes. As of right now, I was just going to have the speakers sit on the bare wood. Will it help stabilize them on rubber pads? Does anyone know where I can get floor spikes or rubber pads. Thanks.

Floor spikes and wood floors are not easy companions,
it's going to look worse than wood worm soon.

How about three dimes to give a rock resistant base?

Rubber pads are the opposite to what most try to do.
Try a thin pad of Blue Tack (any colour will do) at each corner of the speaker to glue it to the stand.
