Boy it sure would be nice if a user could go to the wiki section and look up How To's!

For example. i would love to be able to go to the wiki and find Nelson Pass's article on Mosfet matching. Or see John Curls method of device matching, etc etc. all the big heads and there how to's! amen!

How about a tutorial on using a curve tracer, or scope basics, or some other trick thing you figured out.

Im sure there are many many how to's that could be added.

I just can't get enough information!

The wiki seems to have a hard time being as dynamic as simple google routes to those information searches. Something is missing and it's hard to qualify. Individuals regularly update and tinker with their webpages, but very few seem to go back to the wiki, once they've entered information, to keep it current or to add to it.

I wonder if (for a general knowledge base) a wiki is practical for a forum? Maybe the WWW Wikipedia itself should be utilized? Something to do with critical mass. As a wikipedia entry is being linked to by the greatest number of people, from any audio forum/interest/search on the net, it is maintained far more dynamically.

For instance, here already is...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pass_Labs

and...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_crossover

Perhaps there is a mechanism for linking to wikipedia in the diyaudio wiki? I don't know that much about it frankly. I just notice these things as a user. Wikis really are easy to use. But I think they still could benefit, as sections of individual forums, with a great deal more user interface simplicity.
