http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search I always thought it was just a serial number aka database key, but I haven't done any research. I would assume it is a database key and information on what database it is in - brand of chip, etc.... The database (not in the dog chip) then has information on the owner, etc...

Google RFID. The data is probably encrypted, it's bound to be someone's IP.
