hehe, i got put into the "sin bin" (what a catchy little phrase eh? makes you wanna puke), for many funny things.

did you read mine? i was the almighty first one...

supposedly, i told someone wrong info and didnt apologize for it. (i must have just been misinformed, and if that was the case, i wouldnt have KNOWN to apologize).

then i told someone to goto another forum. oh i remember that one, he was wanting to do something COMPLETELY unrelated to audio, so i told him of another forum that could be better... BAD MOVE! (this is the only and BEST forum online)

i annoyed someone, LOL. priceless.

i told someone a liar? eh, maybe, it happens.

ill prolly be in there again for "ranting about dumb reasons to be stuck in sin bin". hehe.

hehe,

cowanrg has been sentanced to the sin bin for 2 weeks for using internet slang for probably.

Maybe I've been on the net too long, but do you guys REALLY need help to find porn on the net?! Man, I get plenty of spam e-mails helping me out in that regard. :)

Sheldon, you took the words from my mouth. I have wonder about this since the first time I read about it. The P-subject is all over you. You can't really miss it. Once a day (at least) I get invitations from xxx sites. I can't imagine that there are many people who really need advises.

I think it is very right of the moderators to be hard on bad behavior.

Only atleast once a day? I get atleast 5 times!!!! Hey, I enter my email whenever asked for it..... What could I expect??

That's Nothing

Frank de Grove has just been banned because he stepped on the overblown ego of a sad little man who moderates here, who's friends even think he is ill suited to the position (he posted that tidbit himself). Specifically Frank had the gall to post something that contradicted said moderator's views on his pet projects, specifically the DIY TT thread and the Fertin thread. FTR, I read, ALL of the posts in both threads before they were edited or deleted, and all the private email commentary since.

You don't even have to break the rules to get into trouble, merely breach one person's interpretation of "the spirit" of them. LMAO.
Although you do not violate our rules in a literal sense, you do violate the spirit of those rules. Go, read it. NOW!

Read it before it expires or they delete it. Don't want any evidence on the record after all.

Beware what you post. If it doesn't agree with a moderators view they will simply delete, edit, sinbin or ban you. Not to mention slander at will and not allow you a right of reply.

As for the original post in this thread, about being sinbinned by telling where to find porn, what a joke. All you have to do is open a browser window, type in any part of the anatomy or any activity even vaguely sexually related (even if doing research on a medical topic), and I'd be stunned if you got less than 10000 hits. My morals feel so much better knowing they are protected by the diligence and regard of the moderation team here.

It must be that all the heavy metals in the ground water down there have turned you into an inappropriate reference removed by moderator , but I won't let that excuse you.

The moderators didn't seem to have a problem with this.

And the moderators didn't seem to have a problem with bringing Fred back!

To Fred

When I made my post about you coming back under your own name that was from my heart plain and simple. I had no clue as to what your name was or that the moderators would act on it.

They are not perfect nor are they evil mongers.

Personally, in real life, I find a way of terminating every individual that threatens me with legal action.

quite sincerely

I was also surprised to see all the banning due to "porn" related stuff. I wonder if it could be that they linked to something that contained something sexual, not neccasarily just straight up porn. I hung out for almost two years solid at Honda-tech forum and maybe saw a dozen times that someone posted something point blank sexual or shocking, and it was usually in the off-topic area, and that place has over 30,000 members and alot more traffic thats in the 16-25 yr old age. So I was a little suprised to see such things on a site like this.

Now that is a threat...........

Why anyone would want to talk to a lawyer, unless being persued by another lawyer, is a complete mystery to me. I use to do some audio work for one till the money was just not worth it......

A.P. Anonymous member,
Fred

P.S. maybe I should ban myself.........

And as a reflection from a country much different from the US when it comes to the hiring of lawyers...

I am 35 years old and the first time I heard of anybody I know that hired a lawyer or contacted one was just a few months ago. I don't even expect that I will ever contact a lawyer...I haven't to date at least.

Just a thought...

Sometimes it just takes us a little time to react. jwb got a sinbin sentence for this... the details are being cleaned up as i speak.

Cowanreg,

I found out after the fact, that SinBin is a common rugby term -- us North Americans who don't play much real football would miss that.

Isn't the censorship going a bit far now? I suddenly see that
Fred complained about someone calling him " inappropriate reference removed by moderator". Strange, I am pretty sure
he said something else just a few hours ago. I personally
wouldn't have a clue about how to react to being called an
"inappropriate reference". ;)
The moderators are getting so swift removing evidence for all
sorts of things happening on the forum now that a CSI technician
would cry.

Fred complains about being called someone calling him nasty things, and the moderatoors not reacting, and then we get taken to task for reacting.

The term involved had no place on this forum, if the post had been in a technical thread it would have been whisked away to the trash.

A moderator's job is not easy...

Christer -- we'd love to have you come help.

Planet10, Christer,

I think that it surely is a problem that everything "inappropriate" is deleted. I agree that such language shouldn't be used, but everytime there is some hassle, you clean up the place, and afterwards there's a big discussion going on what happened.

Let's face a fact: I don't think anybody in this forum is really shocked when 4 letter words and other offensive language is used. We don't have any members that are so young that the use of such language would affect in a negative way.

So why don't you quit tha habit of immediately censoring everything, but let it untouched say 1 or 2 days, while you sinbin the offender or take further measures? After that you could censor the offensive parts. Additionally you could add a button to edited posts that take you to the original version of the post for people who missed such a thing. That would be a clean solution that still provides full information, if you want it.

I think this would improve the situation in two significant ways:

1. There wouldn't be any more arguments on what was originally posted.

2. For the "offenders" it's much more humilating that everybody can have a look at the junk they posted, rather than reading "3 weeks SinBin for disrespect of a fellow member" or something similar.

think about!!

: I don't think anybody in this forum is really shocked when 4 letter words

No dismayed is more like it. Bad language is inflammatory and reflects poorly on the user. It loads the post with strong emotions and serves little use toward rational discussion. Besides, I have usually been able to insult and inflame without the use of such language:spin:

Maybe people should be put in the Sin Bin for whining about the Sin Bin.
