And here is an up-to-date shot of mine. For scale, the little monitor is a 19", and my ancient G4 under the desk.

That is a nice set up planet10 i like that. i think im going dual 19" samsung dyna flat monitors there about 380 now so there getting cheap. and a dual spu tower with a dvd-r and 2 x 120 gig hard drives. : O ) i cant believe the apple towers dont need updates to see larger hard drives. NOt like the older pc's where you have to put drive overlay software or bois updates. : o ( just plug your new hdd into the mac and format it and then start using it. : O ) SIMPLE

The "official" name for any Blue G3 is Smurf.

My Smurf sits at my ISP hooked up to a 10 mbs pipe.

The machine has a DVD player. It has both firewire and USB although I have no use for either. It takes 8GB of RAM and can be upgraded to do 30-bit color. It's a Sun Blade 1000, rather than the 2000, which are still over $12,000, and the only difference with the 2000 is that is has faster processors. As per hard drive expansion, it will take two or three, but I have 4 Sun A5000 arrays, 14 9.1s drives each for a total of 509gb.. Although I only have one working right now. Fiber channel is really, really sweet, especially to have inside the box. The sun will also take 2 Sun PCi Pro cards which will allow me to run windows if the need arises.

It was a tough choice over a SGI Octane2, but the 600mhz machines are slower, I don't do much video anymore, and they're still $7-8000.

I don't have a digital camera.

My desktop system is a Silicon Graphics Indigo2 max impact which is fine for web surfing and what not..

Downstairs I have an Onyx with fiber channel which is attached to the arrays. I also have 5 or 6 Sparcstations for the internet firewall and all. The Onyx is maxed out and does things I still cannot do with PCs.

Right now I am on the only PC in the house, a dual xeon 550 with a SGI 1600SW..someone else in here has one.

..... errrrr, yep, that'd be me - and a fine piece of hardware it is, too

As Robin was heard to say, "holy **** Batman ...... what do you do with all that hardware ???"

.... the boys at SGI would just love that - I'm not quite sure that's what they had in mind when they built it, but yes, I'm sure it does a fine job of this too

Hope the Sun continues to shine !!

cheers
