Considering just how many members here are US citizens, the owner/moderator of this site should consider something like this post for a "sticky" for each forum. If something even similar to this legislation is passed it will likely effect these members to some degree at some point.. and as a by-product other members as well. Imagine paying for a high speed connection and being able to pull a web-page from AT&T at about their ability to send it. (good!) Now contrast this with DIYAudio, (which is for all intents and purposes directly commercially irrellevant), which at some point would likely be bandwidth limited. Instead of being able to "pull" a page from diyAudio at its ability to send, instead it is limited to less than 20% of that speed. (..bad, and you can bet after a while that membership participation will decline.) Now I don't think this scenario would be likely even after a few years with this legistlation passed and made law. Given some time though, and voter apathy, such a scenario is IMO - inevitable. Taken to an extreme, I could easily see the previous scenario become similar to posting pictures on so-called "free" sites. You know, you have posted your audio system on one of these sites and provided a link here in a "systems" thread (or some such), and after a few days the link says something like: "..the allocated bandwidth has been exceeded for this month, sorry.". Just a thought..
