I have done a search and looked but most of the threads just say they used it not how they liked it. Other problem with the search is most are old threads and the pictures of the examples are gone.
Veneer in question http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=260-014 Is this a decent finish option? being I was in car audio is this like a standard vinyl? they say 10mm thick but thats like .39 of a inch? thats got to be off alot. Does anyone have any pics of there DIY projects used with the vinyl laminate? Thanks in advance Brett |

I've used it very extensively, it's not actually 10mm, but 10mil, about 1/3 the thickness of a typical credit card. Very easy to use, some like it, others hate it
Pictures, yes plenty of my projects: this horn project that i'm working on, i used black ash (woodgrain) http://fullrangedriver.com/forum/vie...php?id=303&p=2 i used maple / cherry combinations on this horn: http://fullrangedriver.com/gallery/d...album=4&pos=16 nuff said here: http://fullrangedriver.com/gallery/d...album=4&pos=32 |

thank you, this may also raise some debate, but I used 3/4" rubber-like T-molding, i got my 250 foot batch from e-bay and the label on the box is Bunzl Extrusion Tacoma, Inc
The last link - that is not my setup - I sold that first pair to a buddy at work and that is his Panasonic Plasma I have purchased many many rolls of all the colors and this is my opinion: the darker colors will hide imperfections better than the silver or maple. The maple does not have the "wood grain" like the black ash or cherry. Which ever surface you apply, make sure it has no dust (the smallest salt like grain will show) I've been researching other types of pressure sensative adhesives, one particular one that I focused on & drooled over was this http://www.alsacorp.com/products/she...sheetingfx.htm at roughly $10 a square, it's very pricy, but i'm sure it's much more beautiful & durable (GE lexan coating on it too) than PE vinyl. Hopefully, I've answered some of your questions or confused you more?? |

I haven't (ever) tried to "miter" Lexan -- I suppose the best way to do this would be with a 45 degree router bit. |
