Hello everyone,
I wonder if someone could help me please? I have a CDX-700 that is suffering from a weak laser. Does anyone know the part number for the unit, and if possible where one can be purchased in Europe? Thanks. |

Hi Dumbledore,
Why do you think your laser is weak? Disc motors wear much more quickly. If Yamaha has a service agent in your area, go there. There are adjustments to be done when replacing the head. You may be further ahead allowing the service agent to do the entire job. Do the motor too if you are doing the head. -Chris |

If the calibration procedure is as tricky as in Pioneer equipment I wouldn't even think of DIY.

Hi Hugo,
You have that right!! I have not ever seen another laser head where the diffraction grating needed to be adjusted - just to work! The early Yamaha's had a diffraction grating adjustment, but they would work ou of the box. That is until you touched the adjustment. Actually, I got pretty good at doing both. Then there is the E-F balance adj. on the KSS-240A. Okay, I'll stop now. -Chris |

Too lazy to Google now but if it is the same laser as in CDX-99 I have one new in box for you. This one is a KCP1H.
