Moved to Everything Else, as it's not really an audio question...

On the XP box check
start | control panel | Network connections right click your network connection often called "local area connection" and select properties make shure that in the list "this connection uses the following items:" "file and print sharing for microsft networks" is selected. Should be installed and have a check mark Click OK and close all windows Then start | My Computer and browse to the folder you want to share. Right click this folder and select sharing and security. Place a checkmark at "share this folder on the network" and if you like (security!!) "Allow network users to change my files" The XP box and the win98 box should both be member of the same workgroup. For the XP box this can be verified by start | right click my computer | computer name click change if you want to rename the computer or the workgroup For the win98 box the process is similar. Any firewall software should be properly configured. i.e. allow file and printer sharing in XP firewall Hope this helps |
