Hello,
Does anyone know where I can get hold of an autotransformer that has a 230v primary and a 220v secondary in the UK? Thanks in advance! Kris. |

You could custom order these transformers...
What`s the watt rating you are looking for??? And if you don`t mind me asking..what do you need it for?? |

Well, couldn´t you just link up two 110V-110V Volt ones (like the primaries in series n the same with socondaries), or would´t that work at all?
I had a kind-of-similar problem until last week. I´m from Austria, where we have 220V @ 50Hz. For my ZenLite I needed 110V300W Lightbulbs...defenitely not conviniently available in the alps. I bought them last week in Mexico (surf trip). Did you post it in an other forum here yet? Oh, and I´m curious too, what do you need it for? Greets, David

Hello all,
I have just picked up a cheap variable transformer today that does the job perfectly. As for the use I have a few pieces of equipment that runs on 220v, The mains at the sockets here is 240v. That was causing the transformers to saturate so I just needed something to take the extra 20v off. Cheers. |

Ok, 240 volts into old 220 V gear may cause problems but you wrote 230 volts....

Sorry I made a mistake but all is fine now anyway (Thought UK had changed to 230v like the rest of europe but still measure 240 at the socket )
