so how do you decide someone is sock puppeting? They use the same IP address? Seems like a unusual thing to do in the first place but catching it seems nearly impossible to me...

Surprised about how many people there are that have been in the sin bin.

With 35.000 members I think the sinbin figures are very modest.
I'm pretty sure many other forums ban more rapidly.

Comparing a person's post style is in many cases the determinant factor for finding double registrations.

We have a variety of tools at our disposal to determine if someone is infact a sock puppet. The exact details of these tools shall remain unknown to all but the few that are allowed to use them.
