Default Godfried-Willem Raes explores the limits of instrument building.

http://logosfoundation.org/index-god.html#Syllabus

The man, very ahead of his time and extremely clever, creates electromechanical instruments. http://logosfoundation.org/instrum-god.html

All or almost all are microprocessor controlled. The aim is to write music and let the machines do the job in a way no human been could play.
Some kind of John Cage in his own way, or call it the New-York avant-garde in Belgium.
All of his work is open source, be it hard- or software.

Some parts of his site are translated in English and make a very interesting reading.
I know the man from many years ago when I used to work in a restaurant in Gent.
He’s a professor and despite the fact that he claims to be a vegetarian, he used to eat the hottest blackened redfish we could make accompanied with lots of raw African pigments.
I was ones witness of his Autosax playing one of his compositions. http://logosfoundation.org/instrum_gwr/autosax.html

Have a look at his “Daily life properties” on his homepage. You’ll have a good laugh.

The Autosax looks like a Segway that ran over Roland Kirk.

Interesting and intriguing stuff, Hugo!

Thanks, I found out who Roland Kirk is but what's a Segway?

BTW, check out his write-up on Copyrights:http://logosfoundation.org/copyleft/copyrigh.html
Certainly something to think about without wanting to start a discussion about that matter.

The guy's picture is priceless. I may change my avatar.

You can learn all about Segway, the most over-hyped "technology" in my lifetime at www.segway.com

Wait till you are run over by a Segway, it certainly will dramatically change your life, Enzo.

Professor Barabas is priceless, the man is a genius.
I spent some time as a vegetarian, occupying my mind 24/7 on where to get some meat.
Seems to me that there is too little credit for Art and Science originating from Belgium.
I had a Belgian composer relative, the ones to whom i told had never
heard of his name.
Sorry, got to run, the plumper is over to collect.
(that one is obviously not meant to be read by Anglo's)

I've spent 40+ years as a vegetarian. But somehow, it never occured to me to post nude pictures of myself on my website. That aspect of his composition will be giving me nightmares for weeks.
