the blue dots are places i have lived. the big dot is Charlotte, of course. also Kings Mountain NC, and Walhalla SC.
you're way up there, almost to VA. we never really went up there much when i was a kid. it's pretty country though. |

I think your western most dot is between Spartanburg SC and Vogel State Park in GA. My father was born in Spartanburg and as a child the family retreated north to Vogel in the summer not infrequently, though not to Spartanburg which don't offer up any mercy regard'n summer heat. No offence, Sur, but Ah can't say Ah have much fondness for the hot flat south. But then Ah'd rather do chores for the land and livestock than sit on the veranda and sip Mint Juleps. (And I'm too old for anything but the latter when the heat gets > 82.) As they say, you can take the boy outa the country but you can't take the country outa the boy. eStatic |
