Mouse Pad Isolation

Has anyone used mouse pads for isolation? Thoughts, results?

It was recommended to me once for mounting my TTmotor, got something like that with my Scheu-motor. You could isolate things that vibrate with that stuff. It's not like bitumen sheets though.
