In the US, one can look in the "Yellow Pages" of the telephone directory of any large city and find companies that manufacture gaskets. These companies will have sheet felt material (along with cork, rubber, et cetera) in many different thicknesses.

Default Deep Thoughts

Does an employee of the factory have to have actually handled the product for it to be called "felt" ?

Maybe a carpet retailer or a panel beater / auto wreckers (used a lot in car sound deadening). Worth a try.

After a building is finished, why don't they call it a built?

GF, You should try an auto upholstery shop. Comes in great big rolls.

I just bought some 1/2" wool felt at McMaster-Carr:

http://www.mcmaster.com/

They ship internationally although I don't know if it is cost prohibitive for you.
