12V Regulated Power Supply Questions !!!
I have one toroidal transformer 2x12VAC @ 0.63A - 15VA, 7.5VA each winding.

I want to use one winding from the transformer and put it into a full wave bridge rectifier then I'll have 16.9 VDC without diodes losses. I thinck this voltage is good to work with the regulator 7812 ?

My questions are:

What happens with current, is still remains at 0.63A after regulation ?

How can I calculate the output current, because I need to build a circuit and it need only 150mA @ 12VDC

Please help !!

No need to worry. 0.63 is max current the transformer can supply continously. Your circuit will use 150mA, and you'll have a nice safety margin.
