PC to Amplifier

I am unsure as to what has happened as this has never happened before. I hooked my computer to my amplifier and i get a very loud humming noise that completly overuns all sound from my computer. In the past i have never had such a problem i tried changing the wires to no avail. Any ideas why and or how to fix?
Your assistance and expertise would be greatly appreciated.

That's a ground loop.
It's not advisable to disconnect the earth on a PC, although it would cure the problem.
Please don't do it.
Instead, buy a cheap ground loop isolator.
They are used in car audio, you can find them easily.
Try it, it should solve your problem.
