I'm looking for a source or sources of aluminum for building some Aleph X chassis. I'm looking for some 1/2" - 3/4" bar stock, some ventilated sheet for top/bottom.
Probably going to do the frontpanelexpress.com thing for a clean front and back plate. My heatsink will be the sides.
Does anyone have a source (US / Midwest preferred for minimal shipping) for this sort of material?
Thank you,
Bryan

I usually start with McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com). You'll find it in the Raw Materials and Springs section -- the last section on their home page. Just click on the word "metals" in the list.
They’re a bit spendy but usually have what I need in stock.

Have you checked for a metal dealer in your area? They usually will have a remnant area and will sell various pieces by the pound. I have done this at one of my local delaers and can really get aluminum cheap. I've also had good experiences with onlinemetals.com.
Good luck!
