I was just wondering where to go to find information on amp protection circuitry. I guess there isn't too much involved, just a bandpass filter. But I was wondering what about if you short the input to ground or apply a high voltage to it by accident?

Hi Pete.
Nothing should happen if You connect the input to ground. That just means 'no signal'. If You want to protect Your amp against overvoltage, just connect two zenerdiodes (i.e. 5,6V) back to back between the input and ground, then any voltage exceeding 6,2V will be removed. That's the simplest and cheapest way to do it. If You want to protect Your amp against DC, then put a capacitor between the input-socket and the amp-circuit, but check out that there isn't one allready.

Just found the link I wanted to ad in my previous reply: http://capacitors.com/pickcap/pickcap.htm It's very interesting reading brought to my knowledge by ding and GRollins.
