Default Any Bi-Amp options?

I would like to know besides the common 4 identitical (in theory) mono amps should there be any other ways/combination that satisfy most music taste. I've heard of using valve class A for the mid to high and using powerful classAB transistor for the lower ends. How do one decide on the power matching or what power split 40/60? what is the guild line?

Chris

Check out the bi-amping article at www.sound.au.com for some details. Thee's a chart there of power % versus crossover frequency.

More info on my XO Links page.

This is something I to have been pondering. The best refference I
have found is http://sound.westhost.com/bi-amp.htm#power_dist This may be the same refference that
has already been mentioned. In my case I may be using a 106db/watt mid and a 91db/watt tweeter so I will probably end up using a much larger amp for my tweetes than my mids.

Regards, Bob
