Go JVC! So far I haven't found JVC to be anything more then mediocre in the electonics/audio business, but at $500 USD, these are priced as high end little dinky speakers. I am eager to give them a listen, and see how they compare to other speakers in the $500 range. I am not sure how making a speaker cone from wood will improve the sound reproduction, but it should help with damping quite well.
In case nobody here has seen it yet, here's another link to something completely amazing!

For a moment there, I was wondering if you really meant to type "Bose can do it all".

"Booze can do it all" huh? I always wondered what a "double blind" listening test meant.

Most likely they will compare rather rubbish to other speakers in the $500 range. This is because $500 is for the entire mini system!

My apologies, I did not read the article correctly. $550 US is for the entire "executive desktop-entertainment system", complete with the tiny 30 watt speakers, a tiny "combination" amplifier, and a tiny CD/DVD player.
