Here’s one of Philbrick’s designs from a US Navy manual
Works extremely well, I’ve used it in several preamp builds
Extremely quiet and very stiff, I used a 6080 pass tube, and this
One uses two 5751 tubes one for drive and one for DC amplification and error correction.

I usually enjoy his videos but he has one where he has every audiophool throwing out their Amperex and Mullard small signal tubes because of the flash. He says it's a manufacturing error and those tubes are no good because of the flash. Strange, I have had equipment from the 60's with those tubes in it and they still test strong and work perfectly. If they were doomed to begin with because of the dangerous flash those tubes wouldn't have lasted this long and people would have learned to stay far away from them.
