Quick question. What does the small circle mean on the output of the top opamp symbol? Thanks.

P.S. I guess the symbol can also mean amplifier and does that change what the circle means?

The symbol is used for logic gates. The one with the circle is an inverter (NOT gate).

Is that an op-amp? I don't think so as there is only one input!

Usually that is a logic gate or buffer, the circle indicating inversion. Input hi, output lo, etc

Boolean buffer. Circle is inverted buffer. Usually TTL or CMOS logic levels.

There's a really handy free android app, electrodroid, that contains a ton of calculators and reference info, including circuit schematic symbols.

Thanks rif. Honestly, I have that app on my phone and didn't even think about using it. I forget it's there sometimes but it is really good.
