Got a wierd problem- the other day I was playing with my audio system with my new partsexpress woofer and I suddently heard static coming through the woofer. What da heck! It seems to have come before the crossover stage cause if I switched on the internal crossover the static gets filtered. I unplugged the input wire and the static was still there so its not coming from up above the signal chain. When the static is going on, it seems to override whatever input is being fed to the amp as well.
Then, I slapped the amp rather hard with my hand and it went away. Any ideas whats going on? Its done it more then once. Any ideas? PS amp in question, Soundstream Rubicon 1002 . Ive had it for a few years and so far its been solid reliable. |

I'd check the input and power supply connections both inside and outside the case. If you don't feel comfortable going further take in for repair. You'ld want to be pretty sure it's the amp that's freaking out but it sounds like it to me.
