Does anyone know where I can get free samples of dc motors?
I want to use the motors for an arm that I will control with a Microchip pic. |

Really...a dc motor is easily found in all kinds of junk. If you could be more specific, i could even tell you exactly where to find them. They are simply too cheap to trouble with begging for.

printers contain stepper motors, good for arms controlled by PICs, someone must be throwing one away near you soon.

I want something that's more powerful than a standard rc servo. It would be nice if it came with a gearbox. I don't need much speed out of it, but I would like a lot of torque.

May i recommend a BIG RC servo??
I use such for my 1/5 scale RC cars, they offer a whole lot of power and are very reliable. Magura

I forgot to mention that I want to keep this as cheap as possible.
The BIG rc servo would cost me a lot, and I would need at least 3 of them, which brings up the cost. |

If thats what you essentially need, I dont think you can make it any cheaper yourself. Its not the motor thats expensive....its the gear and the motor control. The motor itself is like less than 10 USD.
