Default 6061 or 7075 for building enclosures

I've been shopping around for some aluminum to build my amp, and I am seeing these 2 alloys of aluminum most frequently. Are there any significant advantages or disadvantages to using one or the other? Ease of machining? Finishing?

I usually use 7075T6 whenever i can get it. Its a little harder than 6061T6 and therefore a little less sensitive to bruises. Besides that it is easier to machine/-cut since it dosnt stick as much to regular metal working tools as 6061.

7075 is much stronger as well, wich is beneficial for some class A amps.

Magura, thanks for sharing your experience. Another advantage is that it seems like I am finding more 7075 in the surplus market also.

I have read that it can be more difficult to anodize 7075 because of its higher alloy content. Have you ever ran into this problem?

Its the copper that previously have caused trouble when anodizing, An experienced anodizer wont mind as long as you tell them its 7075.
