Question Avoid polarity inversion

Is there a schematic that "check" the polarity and if it's not correct don't allow the volt to pass??
I need this for a SMPS.. If i connect erroneously the +/-inverted i'll burn a lot of component...

you have your source ( power supply) and you circuit you connect to the source. Just build a diode in series with your circuit. A schottky will drop 0,1 or 0,2 Volt and will leave current flow only if connection between circuit and power supply is right direction. Whats the problem?

and what makes the difference? i canīt see more solutions than diode --> protection against current flow in wrong direction or fuse ---> protection against too much current flowing.

To protect against polarity inversion at the input of SMPS???
