Default I bet this club actually sounds decent

A pleasant change to the usual distorted compressed bassy rubbish.
McIntosh’s 80,000-watt Despacio club system touring in 2015!

the vinyl only tour, I wonder where its final home will be.
they mention 10dB headroom that's overkill (3 dB is a lot)
I wonder how they came up with those cross over points.

"Despacio is a statement project intended to preserve, promote and celebrate the tradition of pure live music performances."

So where is the band?
DJs are the antithesis of a 'live music performance' regardless if they use vinyl or not.

Charles, you seem to have analyzed the dj phenomenon not very well

Agreed, calling DJs live music is an insult to musicians, and anyone else who loves music. And it's a lot easier getting good sound from a DJ. What a joke.

And why no mention of the make of the speakers/drivers, the important part. You could replace the macintosh with crowns and almost no one would notice.

Yes, I've read about this before, and it ticks the boxes - what it has is the ability to go to very high SPLs without the usual compression distortion, etc, that typical club equipment always exhibits. Which means that the people can listen completely comfortably, at what would be normally impossible volume levels - the stress of filtering out the distortion of normal gear rapidly kills the enjoyment of listening to the sound as music.

I thinks its great DJs taking more control of their sound instead of being at the mercy of club owners.
sheesh CD.. Know it or not, DJs are indeed artists, some are even musicians as well. most DJs interact with the audience as the set evolves, (they all say that "they feed off the energy that's created" ) that's live feedback, so yeah. they aren't record players.

So... my Bose speakers count as an artist? Since it gives real time feedback and adjusts the sound based on the music.
