Default cd-rom drive as audio cdp

I need info and suggestions regarding a suitable controller circuit to connect to two or more standard cd-rom drives to build dual deck cd player ala Denon dn-2000 DJ dual deck cdp.
Varispped info too please if possible.

On http://www.mp3projects.com there are links to several hardware mp3 players using cdrom (ATAPI) interface. It should be possible just to build the controler along with display and small keyboard. I don't know about varispeed though.
