Hi, I bought a new smt750 ups for my pc-audio
but I have some problem for turn off this device (from panel)
because this is enough complex.
(Turn on ups is very simple, just press the on-button )
To turn it off:
1 - press the on / off button
display ups ask: ups turn off? no/yes
2 - I have to select "yes"
3 - I have to press enter button
display ups ask again: Ups Control? (off-use Delay / Off no Delay/ Reboot use Delay / Reboot no Delay / No Action)
4 - I have to select the "off No Delay"
5 - I have to press enter button again
Finally, it turns off.

(alternatively I have to hold down the off-button for over 14 seconds until the second beep)

I understand that this system is designed to prevent accidental switching off,
however this is quite uncomfortable.
(the old sua750 was much simpler)
any ideas?

Pull the battery out and install it in an old UPS? Usually the only thing that goes wrong with them is the battery wears out.

Or, maybe you can tell it to shut down by using the RS232 or USB interface.

Thanks for the reply. Yes,I should shut it down through the program powerchute.
The problem is that I also use a lot of live linux cd-rom and so I have to turn it off from front panel.
I bought this ups because I only need true sine output, I hope that the new BIOS versions are less complex.
