Ok, long story short. I am tring to repair a pair of headphones, the wires within the cord, though, seem to be coated in some type of protective stuff that prevents them from shorting when they mix with other signals. I believe you guys know what I am talking about, how there are 3 signal lines (L+, R+, COMMON-). Well there was a volume control unit on the line but I had to remove that along with a bit of damaged wire following it.
How can I remove this coating from the wire so I can join the two parts? I've tried a bit of sanding, scraping w/ a knife and alcohol.
Any ideals would be appreciated, thanks.
