Default DIY Sony surround amplifier as simple amplifier

Hi, I have a sony amplifier called TA-DX8
It's a sony's surround amplifier comes from a mini hifi system

(next to the right speaker)

The amplifier can only be used when it's connected to the main system through a sony cable called "SYSTEM CONTROL" It's a 13 pin connection like this

So, my question is , can i do some DIY to input sound from 3.5mm jack slots to this amplifier as my main system died

Thanks very much

It looks possible. You just have to figure out what to do with the various control signals. If the main unit is sufficiently alive, maybe you can measure some voltages.

Look online for the schematic diagram. I have the schematic for the DX80, but the connector is 13 pin.

oops. it's the 13 pin, i had typo in the 1st post
I believe there should be some short of voltage in [protect]-[ACGround] to make the unit work. Just dont know what's the right value, others pins dont need to be cared about, right?
I would be great if you can upload the schematic diagram for DX80 so we can discuss more. thanks a lot. i'm a noob in these things

I found the schematic on Service Manual free download, schematics, datasheets, eeprom bins, pcb, repair info for test equipment and electronics. (Search for TA-DX80)
Pin s appears to have to be high (maybe 5 to 12 volts?) to operate the speaker relay, but I suspect there will be more required.
