Goss band fitted around mains Tx laminations?

What effect (If any),

Does fitting a GOSS band around the iron circuit of a standard mains Tx have?

Ie not around the windings, over the iron circuit.

A clamp mount is just steel over the iron circuit and it is linked from end to end with the chassis.
So a GOSS band over the iron circuit is similar?

Never seen that before. Some E/I transformers have a belly band, but that is usually copper - it works via induction not 'magnetic conduction' so high conductivity is needed rather than high permeability.
