Just replaced the laser mechanism of my cd player with a
new one. It seems to contain some lubricants at the
needed places, like where the laser head slides, but very
little or I should say invisible. I have this following silicon
grease: `ACC SGM494 Silicone Grease'. Can I use this
over the existing grease? Will it react as I do not know
the grease in the mechanism came from the factory?

Kindly advice.
Thanks
Roushon.

I suspect the grease in your link will be way to thick.
The grease I always use on mechs is a "special plastics grease" that is plastic/metal compatible.
SPG35SL - ELECTROLUBE - SPECIAL PLASTICS GREASE, 35ML | CPC
A new mech shouldn't need any and should be correctly lubed as supplied.
