Well, if I drop an aluminum former voice coil inside one of my speaker magnets, if still unmagnetized it falls like a rock and hits the bottom plate with noise; but if magnetized it falls slowly.
Now a Kapton former VC drops like a rock always.

I have an acquaintance. He runs a scrap yard. I was there one day when a person entered with some scrap metal.
My acquaintance asked the guy, "Is it metal, or is it aluminum?". ... Made me laugh!
Yes, on a more serious note, think about the speedometer in most older vehicles. They spin aluminum to induce eddy currents and move the meter needle and think linear motor technology.
Wonderful stuff, science!
