Newbie question - am posting here because I don't know which forum to post in. I was directed to diyAudio.com from a computer forum.
Question: Is it okay to use the earphone output from a cassette tape player as input to the line-in connection on my pc or will there be too much voltage/power/watts/amps or whatever. {Male family members are amateur radio gurus so I picked up a little terminology} BTW I'm also a newbie on pc's. Thanks - and apologies if I got the wrong forum. V... |

Valerie:
A) Welcome to the forum! B) This is probably the correct section to post your question. However, the moderators will move it to the appropriate section if it were not. Having a thread moved to a different section carries no stigma-so don't let that prevent you from posting. C) You can use the headphone jack into the Line In of a sound card. Turn the volume of the cassette player fairly low to begin with then move it up gradually to prevent any possible overload. D) Here is an informative thread on the issue. Mr. Feedback operates an electronic repair store, so you can be sure of the answer. LINE OUT !!!! (Impedance Matching ???)
