Default What was the very first thread that was made on diyaudio?

I feel a bit nostalgic. Whats the oldest one that you can find?

Some old posts were not carried over when we switched the software due to complications. The forum started in 1999 IIRC correctly.

Going through it very quickly, this is the earliest I found but I didn't check all the categories.

Help with some fast, small clean subwoofers.
Posted by Greg on August 23, 1999 at 11:56:43

I have a new Titanic 12" sub in a nice 4cu/ft box, and a P.E. subamp, which are now up for sale. What I need is a smaller, faster sub for my Aria5/Raven1's(91.5db/Watt). Should I buy two 8" Focal woofers and a electronic crossover? I really want sealed boxes, but I think the Focals are for ported boxes. I would like bass down to about 28hz. I have a large solid state amp I could use for the woofers, and a small tube amp for the highs. I have a small room, so I don't need a lot of loud bass. I also, don't have a lot of money to spend. What are my options?

For the sake of curiosity, I typed post no.1 long ago, and IIRC Jason posted it to announce opening of diyaudio forum.
