so I've got this Marantz SA8260 CD player that works as follows: plug in power cord, press standby button, wait to hear click of relay switch, press standby button again and unit powers up..at least, that's how it's SUPPOSED to work.
In my case, I never hear the click of the relay switch...UNLESS I briskly tap the passive transformer located on the standby PCB once with my finger. I've tried resoldering the transformer; didn't solve the problem. Figuring that said passive transformer is faulty, I call up Marantz's Canadian distributor and am told that a replacement unit would take 4-6 weeks to arrive (from Japan). I'd like to know if it'd be possible to get a replacement transformer locally (i.e. within North America)..problem is, I don't know the transformer's exact specs beyond its physical size and the fact that it has nine pins...any advice on how to determine the passive transformer's exact specs and go about obtaining a replacement would be greatly appreciated. Here's a pic of the offending standby circuit: [image width=744 height=562]http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/412658/000_0393.JPG[/image] - sef |
