On top of what Andrew has mentioned, if you ever take your gear outside and listen from distances of 10m or more, and you calculate a 6dB drop every time you double the distance then...
110 dB at 1m 104 dB @ 2m 98 dB @ 4m 92 dB @ 8m 86 dB @ 16m 80 dB @ 32m So it isn't hard to see why you need thousands of watts at concerts or hundreds of watts in a large room or night club. |
