I would give this the thumbs up, as I workeed on a portable design over the summer and I spent a lot of time looking about of r information to help guide me, but I never found much, so this might have been a real benifit to me then.

I definitely think that a dedicated forum is merited. While the issues involved in designing portable equipment are essentialy the same as for stationary equipment, the priorities do shift. Battery consumption and total power are only two of the most obvious aspects that differ. What about microphonics and so forth?
