Setting speakers for a showroom
I have a 5000 sq foot showroom, and need to wire it up for sound. Here are the facts;
The room is a rectangle ( i don't have the actual dimensions yet. I think the ceilings are 12 ft.
I am going to use it to stream music from the internet.
1- Amp- which one? Wattage etc.
2- Speakers- How many, which ones. ( there is not a dropped ceiling)
3- wiring - what gauge? How do a wire for Mono sound?

this is for background music. Nothing very loud.,

Thanks in advance.

You need to consult a professional. You can't pick amps without picking speakers or understanding what is in the room to determine the average background level. You did not say if it is still under construction and if you have a way to run wires. Being commercial space, be sure to use plenum rated wire. Being a showroom, you don't want to bring attention to the speakers.

I was in a Walmart the other day and in the TV department they had some sort of phased line array that covered the entire TV area with surprisingly uniform sound. Lots of options.
