Olivia (age 8 months) doesn't quite follow the plot lines yet, but she likes the sounds when we read her Dr. Seuss stories.
There's a funny thing that happens when you don't let kids watch TV...they don't know what they want for Christmas. Makes life much, much cheaper.
And they grow up reading books. Not a bad thing.

If they had parents that substituted "must see" TV with games and reading instead of brain-washing, they would become alot smarter.
They will still have plenty of sources to learn what games are important.

You never hear about this because if too many did that you'd have a bunch of people thinking for themselves and doing not what they are told to do but what _they_ want to do and the whole capitalistic market economy of the US would be doomed.

no TV here - my 3 1/2 year old son reads the first words and writes the first letters these days....
