I recently had the opportunity to attend a demo of 2+2+2 multichannel format.
This made use of true six channel 3D sound reproduction. The result was the most lifelike sound I heard so far (real cinema for the blind).

The Dynavector thing OTOH seems to derive the additional channels throgh the use of some processor of unknown working principle.

Regards

Charles

Default As far as I understood by reading them

The Dynavector principle is to synthesise secondary groupdelayed beating frequencies or 'shadows' based on their grasp of indoors acoustics, in order to simulate a hall. It is not a multichannel effects technique.
They throw them in the face of the main stereo pair to create a resembling acoustic illusion.
I just wonder if anyone has anything to report on it. It seems not covered. Dynavector is not a silly company. So I guess it worths some consideration.

There's a review of the dynavector superstereo processor in issue 18 of hifi+ magazine, quite positive, some of their articles are on the web at their website, but i just checked and that one isn't.
