Sennheiser HD-490 Modding

Hiyee,
Got his pair of headphones from my cousin...who just got his HD-600 and so he passed his HD-490s (quite old pair) to me...cleaned it up and stuck the pads back (the one on the support arch) and I'm glad to say this headphone rocks...I find myself using the phones more than my speakers...due to privacy and volume concerns...I'm trying to get everybit outta these headies...so what kinda amp should I be using and what mods can I physically do to the headphone to make it better??
